I was introduced to this area through Goshen College 27 years ago. After receiving my Bachelors Degree in Art and Business, my husband and I ventured to Fort Collins, Colorado, where I completed my Masters Degree in Interior Design at Colorado State University. While at CSU, I became manager of a computer lab serving over 3,000 students and taught AutoCAD courses to undergraduates. These positions sparked an interest in me helping to build my business management and leadership skills, along with writing and communication skills as I wrote my 200 page thesis. Following graduation, I worked in various commercial design firms gaining experience in architectural design and drafting. After moving back to Michiana and starting a family, I began working as an Interior Design consultant, and was self-employed for many years. Various other experiences include helping a friend start and manage his own business, creating residential home designs, and trouble-shooting computer issues in a local elementary school.
I enjoy being outdoors, relaxing in the sun, and going on family vacations. Any location with warm water, plenty of sun, and beautiful trees is where I like to be, although I am open to visiting new places. Besides traveling, I enjoy long walks with my dog, biking down county roads, swimming with friends, or creating art with my children. I am thankful for the opportunity to get to know this Arkos Design team! I like being a part of a collaborative process in which we find a creative way to connect nature with the built environment. It is thrilling then for me to watch people enjoy these environments which are so rich and rewarding.
