The Bremen Public Library project consists of an addition, renovation of the existing building, and site improvements, which together will enhance the library patrons’ experience, provide the public with more opportunities to utilize the library and meeting spaces, and bring the facility up to current ADA accessibility standards.
The ground floor addition will expand the children’s department with a craft room, storytime space, and storage. These new dedicated spaces will allow for more children’s programs and will relieve stress on the shared spaces where these activities currently take place.
Interior finishes will be upgraded, including flooring, paint, ceilings, and cabinetry. New circulation desks in the adult and children’s departments are designed for new technology and improved patron service. A dedicated young adult space will serve the teens.
Site improvements focus on safety and accessibility, while also providing outdoor spaces, such as a courtyard for patrons and meeting room users.
