Phase 1 Renovation of a multiple-phase project included renovating the dining and hearth areas. A central kitchen provides food to the communal dining area and neighborhood kitchens, which offer a more intimate setting along with the hearth.
Following the phase 1 renovation, interior design services, furniture and finish selection, and construction administration for a 48-room, 48,000-sf two-story addition and wellness center were designed and implemented. This included a rehab center, four distinctive residential-style ‘sanctuaries,’ state-of-the-art therapy, fitness space, and cafe areas.
Arkos Design provided interior design and furniture services for the new addition. Finishes were selected and detailed with the durability and maintenance of commercial materials, but with modern elegance and a nod to residential styling. Four different color schemes were used for each ‘sanctuary’ to create a sense of home and aid with wayfinding. Furniture and window treatments were selected with a hospitality feel in common areas and residential styling in the sanctuaries. Fabrics featured small-scale commercial patterns and faux leathers to complement the building’s residential feel while withstanding heavy use and providing ease of maintenance.
