The SJCPL renovation updated all three stories, creating more engaging spaces on the main levels. Children’s, Teen, and high circulation materials are located on the main floor, non-fiction and study rooms on the second floor, and local history, computer labs, and administration offices on the third floor. The reshuffling of spaces along with completely updated finishes will bring a more intuitive patron experience, state-of-the-art technology, and a welcoming finish aesthetic.
The addition offers more options for community meeting space, educational presentations, a tiered/accessible auditorium, and a third-floor space for the Community Foundation of St. Joseph County. As the addition connects to the existing library, a courtyard allows for controlled outdoor programming.
Arkos Design is proud to partner with Robert A.M. Stern Architects on this project.
