During the Stayer Center for Executive Education Landscape project, extensive design studies of the terraces were created and closely coordinated with the University and the project Architect, Robert A.M. Stern Architects, LLP. In addition to providing outdoor space, the focus of the north terrace is to continue to accommodate the major game-day pedestrian flow between Mendoza and the Stayer Center while creating a visual and physical connection between to two buildings through a common outdoor space.
The South Terrace will serve as the main function space and is designed for both formal and informal gatherings. The south terrace provides a distinct outdoor room, sheltered from the southern exposure and the adjacent parking lot. It will accommodate up to 390 people at tables for an event but is designed to a scale that will invite students and staff to utilize the space for informal uses.
